Popular Tokyo actor, Tôru Watanabe, who was best known for his work on Variety shows, his long standing run in the Theatre Community, as well as retro Anime series like Aesop’s World and Children of the Sea, has had his final curtain call on November 28th, 2022, after taking his last breath due to Septis, a bacterial blood poisoning, a diagnosis he was given days after being hospitalized for abdomen pain on November 20th, 2022. Tôru was 61 years young.
Watanabe is survived by his loving family who includes, Ikue Sakakibara, his famous wife of 35 years, and his son, actor Yuta Watanabe, who will host his Dad’s funeral.
